Sizar at Magdalene College, Cambridge, 1725. Matriculated 1726. B.A. 1729/30.  Fellow 1731.  Ordained Deacon (Ely) 1731.  M.A. 1733.
Rector of Rishangles, Suffolk, 1740 - 1770. Vicar of Kenton, Suffolk, 1735 - 1770.
Married his first cousin LYDIA RAY daughter of Samuel and Lydia (Neech) Ray.
Lydia baptised 1 August 1709, Worlingworth, Suffolk. Died 7 February, buried 12 February 1778, Kenton, Suffolk.
Samuel died 19 December, buried 24 December 1770, Kenton, Suffolk.

Rector of Mickfield, Suffolk.
Married DEBORAH MEEN of Harleston, Norfolk, 19 January 1737/8, at St. Paul, Norwich.
Deborah died 7 February 1788, aged 77.
William died 1 January 1788, aged 80. Both buried at Mickfield, Suffolk.

JOHN RAY  Baptised 9 May 1714, Monk Soham, Suffolk.
According to his father's Will dated 18 May 1750 he was then an Ensign "in Major-General Skelton's Regiment now in Minorca".
From information obtained from the Army List at the P.R.O. in London, an Ensign, John Ray was commissioned
on 14 November 1746 in the 12th (Suffolk) Regiment of Foot commanded by Col. Scipio Duroure (later succeeded by Col. Skelton).
The Regiment was in Minorca for some time during John Ray's service. He retired on 12 February 1750/51.
