From the Ipswich Journal Saturday 3 July 1869: Petty Sessions reports.
"Proceedings under the Vaccination Act. - Samuel Ray, farmer, of Brundish, was summoned for neglecting to have, or cause to have,
his child, Susan Elizabeth Ray, vaccinated.  Defendant produced certificates from a Dr. Gooch, of Stradbroke,
to the effect that the child has not been in a fit state to be vaccinated.  Information dismissed".
