Notes: The family emigrated to the United States on the ship "Australia" from Liverpool, arriving in New York 2 November 1857. Their daughter Mary's future husband Henry Key was with them. They located in Claridon Township, Marion County, Ohio. Notes:

SAMUEL MILLER WITTRED born 25 March 1843, Clenchwarton, Norfolk.
Birth registered June qtr 1843, Wisbech dist xiv 1*3.
Samuel entered the Civil War 1 October 1862, in Company D, 64th Regiment Ohio Volunteer Infantry.
Six days later his regiment joined Gen. Rosecrans, at Murfreesboro Tenn., and while building fortifications he was attacked by typhoid fever, and died 26 April 1863, aged 20 years one month and one day.

WILLIAM PARKINSON WITTRED born 28 April 1845, Clenchwarton, Norfolk.
